Silver Valley Rides

Our central location, just blocks from the paved Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes, in downtown Wallace, Idaho, makes scenic and exciting electric bike adventures easier than ever to access and enjoy.
Whether your group is looking to enjoy a scenic ride, wildlife, huckleberries, natural landscapes, the history and architecture of the Silver Valley, or just a casual outing, check out our recommendations below.

Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes

The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes covers nearly 73 miles of paved, gradual trail through scenic mountains and valleys in Idaho's Panhandle, following the old Union Pacific Railway, the Coeur D'Alene River, and skirting the shoreline of sparkling Lake Coeur d'Alene. It's part of the Great American Rail-Trail, a nearly 4,000 mile rail trail that spans the country from Washington, D.C., to Washington state. Watch for wildlife like eagles, osprey, moose, elk, coyotes, deer, beavers, turkeys, and more. The trail conveniently goes through Wallace. Our shop is a three block ride to the trailhead.

Wallace and the Silver Valley

Our central location in downtown Wallace creates easy access to historic, scenic, and exciting electric bike adventures.
Our top 4 recommended rides include:
1. Wallace tour: To enjoy the history and architecture of Wallace, you can quickly and easily explore our historic, charming town on an electric bike. Cruise through the historic downtown and neighborhoods and take it all in. You can explore most of Wallace in 1 - 2 hours on an electric bike. Please be cautious of cars while riding in town.
2. Burke tour: See the abandoned ghost towns, rich history and abandoned mines of historic Burke, Idaho.
This ride is approximately 15 miles round-trip on a paved road. We recommend 2 - 4 hours to enjoy this ride. Please be cautious of cars on the road.
3. Mullan: For a chance of seeing big game and local wildlife, ride from Wallace through Mullan next to the river. Stop for a burger and beer at the historic Outlaw Saloon in Mullan. Downtown Mullan is about 7 miles from our shop via the paved Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes. You can continue this ride, past Shoshone Park (great place for a picnic), the fish hatchery, up the old Northern Pacific Railway grade via the NorPac Trail up to Lookout Pass. You can expect to be in Mullan in about an hour. If you want to go further to Shoshone Park, you will want the bikes for ~ 4 hours, up to a full day if you ride to Lookout Pass.
4. Huckleberry picking (typically August): Ride up Moon Pass road or up Nine Mile Canyon towards Dobson Pass. Both rides would be about 20-30 miles round trip, depending how far uphill you climb. Moon Pass is a dirt road that climbs uphill to Moon Pass Summit and eventually to Avery. Dobson Pass is a paved road that eventually crosses the summit to the historic mining towns of Prichard and Murray, Idaho. Please be careful of cars, ATVs and side by sides on both of these roads.

What Our Guests Are Saying

Everything was top notch from the moment we met at the shop! Loved the bikes and the Hiawatha Trail! We will definitely be back! Thanks!

It was very convenient to rent from Spokehouse and if you’ve never tried an e-bike on the Hiawatha Trail - we highly recommend it!!! We booked online and Stu and Nick were very quick to respond and remain in contact with us for super easy pick up/drop off in Wallace. Nick even helped us load and unload the bikes in our truck. We had many jealous onlookers wishing they’d had an e-bike to fly “up” the Hiawatha Trail. Everybody’s got to do it at least once.

The one on one service was great. The bikes are very well kept and never had a problem on the trail. I would highly recommend renting using them for your e-bike ride.

Do NOT rent from Lookout. Rent from Nick! I tried unsuccessfully to convince my other 5 family member to rent from Nick and they rented from Lookout. Huge mistake. The brakes failed on one bike 5 miles in. The seat wouldn’t stay in place on another. And then, 16 miles into the ride, a tire blew on another. This made the day miserable and several hours longer then it should have been. I was the only one that rented from Spokehouse and I had a fabulous day. It was so gorgeous on the trail and so relaxing. Thank you Nick!
